Alma's Mission Call

In case you were curious about Alma's mission call that I mentioned in the last post, she opened it this morning in District Conference, and her call is to Salt Lake Temple Square--English Speaking! We're thrilled for her and were secretly hoping that would be where she would go! She leaves in early March.

I was right! You probably know that from time to time, as needed, the Temple Square missionaries are shipped out to parts of the U.S. where there are pockets immigrant populations. We have had the fortunate opportunity to welcome about six different native Mongolian speakers to our Arlington Ward congregation over the past eight years. They usually come for about four to six months and then are returned to SLC.

I didn't know that! Interesting, and terrific. There is a large population of Albanians in Boston, and apparently in Detroit, also. It will be interesting to see if Alma gets sent anywhere in the U.S. Thanks.

Do you know when Alma will actually be "on duty" on Temple Square? We'll keep an eye out for her whenever we're there. The chapel open house sounds wonderful--it's really a tribute to your good work that such important govt. reps were there.
